Friends of the Norwell Public Library operate Fred-the-Shed to enable recycling of books and other media and to raise money for Library Programs. Chair Daune Haskell reports that Fred-the- Shed opened in May, business was good this year, and we are now prepared to close for the 2011 season.
Saturday, October 15, 2011 will be the season closing for Fred-the-Shed. As part of Patron Appreciation Day, the Friends are offering an entire (plastic grocery bag size) BAG of books for $3 to clean out Fred for the winter. The Book Sale will be joined by a Bake Sale hosted by the Friends. Last year the Bake Sale was a big hit. We have ordered good weather for that day and hope for the best. Please join us. Fred will be open from 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday, October 15, or until we run out of books, whichever comes first! Get all your winter/spring reading at fantastic prices. Where else could you walk away with a bag full of books for only $3?
Right now we have a lot of children’s books and a good collection of young adult and adult books. There are some DVDs, audio books, and music CDs. And don’t forget the Bake Sale!
Fred-the-Shed is run by a wonderful group of volunteers who keep the doors open, the shelves stacked, and the books flowing. The Friends are grateful to have their generous help. If you have more books to donate, please save them until Fred re-opens in May, 2012.
